The objective of the competition is to strengthen the attractiveness of small and medium-sized villages and historic centers through the restoration and recovery of urban spaces, historic or cultural buildings as well as distinctive elements of identity character. To this purpose, it is proposed to reuse the old decommissioned railway track in the section from Centola Railway Station to Rocca Gloriosa Station for a total of about 4,700 km. The transformation into greenways of decommissioned railway lines, now poised between abandonment and the possibility of rebirth to new life, is in fact an opportunity for the community that increasingly demands contact with nature. In addition, it is proposed to repurpose and re-functionalize the approximately 100-meter-long tunnel with appropriate eco-friendly rolled stabilized paving and low-energy lighting. A plaza is designed in the vicinity of the tunnel for parking and enjoying the picturesque landscape.
